Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration wants to do everything we can to satisfy each and every client, but even our drive for excellence has its limits. We’re a carpet care company, not magicians! Here is some helpful information concerning carpet patches: 

When installing new carpet, you should always keep a few extra pieces of carpet just in case you ever need to use one as a patch. If you don’t have extra pieces, we may have to “steal” a small section from another less noticeable area in your house, such as a closet. We know this isn’t always what our clients want to hear, but it’s the best way to ensure a good match for your existing carpet.

Of course, you could order a new piece of carpet from the manufacturer, but there’s no guarantee that the new swatch will match your carpet because, even though they are technically the same color, the lots vary from one dye job to the next.

With that said, normal use can wear down carpet, making it hard to match a patch to the original carpet. Likewise, direct sunlight can bleach it, and carpet near heating and air conditioning vents can become slightly discolored, too. Lone Star Carpet Care and Restoration will do our best to make your carpet patch as unnoticeable as possible!

Carpet that is new is the easiest to match, obviously, but it may also be possible to do practically invisible carpet patches in low-traffic areas as well.

Once we decide where the patch will come from, we will begin the complex process of carpet patching. We will remove baseboards, if necessary, and then put them back just like new when we’re finished.
